Frequently Asked Galvanised Dog Runs
Dog runs are used to give dogs a safe and secure place to exercise. They can be used as a stand-alone area, for example where you have a large or badly fenced garden, leaving your dogs in their secure dog run gives you peace of mind. Or you can use them in combination with a dog kennel, or covered area, giving your dogs a complete area to offer both cover and space.
The recommendation for secure dog fields is to have a six-foot-high fence. You know your dogs. If you have little Yorkies, then having six-foot-high dog run panels may be a little excessive. However, if you have working trial shepherding dogs, then you know how high your dogs can jump and will have to make the necessary decision. Our dog run panels are a standard six foot or 1.84 metres high, but if you require bespoke dog run panels please get in touch with our experienced and helpful team.
The minimum recommendation for a dog run is three feet by ten feet, but there is no maximum size. You know your dogs, and you know how much time they will spend in their run, and where the run will be situated. All of these factors affect the ideal size for your dog run. With our dog run panels, you can build the best size dog run to suit you and your dogs.
As a general rule, you don't need planning permission for a dog run if it is for your personal use. If you are running a commercial business such as a secure dog field, or doggie daycare, you may need permission for commercial use, in this instance, it is best to seek professional advice and clarification. If you simply want a dog run for your own use, then building a dog run with our range of adaptable dog run panels should not require planning permission. If you live in a National Park, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, or a listed house, it may be worth seeking specialist advice, as the planning laws can vary in these areas.
